On this model you have to remove the keyboard in order to remove and replace the DVD/CD-ROM drive because the optical drive securing screw is located under the keyboard. Always start laptop disassembly with removing the battery or you can damage the system board if you accidentally touch it with a screwdriver and shorten traces. Removing the keyboard strip is not very difficult, use your fingers to release the plastic latches.
