Removing screen and inverter from Toshiba Tecra A3 laptop

Here are instructions for removing the LCD screen and inverter board from a Toshiba Tecra A3 laptop. Both the screen and inverter are mounted inside the laptop display panel and can be accessed and removed only after you remove the screen bezel. All you have to do is remove two screws hidden under the rubber seals and then separate the screen bezel from the cover using your fingers.

After you removed the bezel, you’ll find the inverter board mounted below the screen. You can remove and replace the inverter board without removing the screen. The inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp inside the screen. If the laptop starts but the image on the screen is very dark, most likely there is a problem with the inverter board.

Handle the LCD screen very carefully. Do not touch or apply pressure on the circuit board attached to the screen. Remove the LCD screen by the edges.
