helo,
i bought a spair/repair toshiba stellite l300 whose screen was showing a very dim.dark screen,i dissable it n fixed its invertor,it turned on,but when i assabled it again,now its completly dead,no light is shwoing,just dead,any help please???

I have had my Toshiba L305 laptop for almost 2 years and one day out of the blue the screen goes black. I can see the a faint picture on the screen and I can see it flicker when I tilt it one way or another. I was informed of that it could be the back light or the FL inverter. Is it possible to be both? Please help

I have a l 305.when the machine boots up their is nothing
on the screen,but if i press down just above the fn keys,F5 and F4
the screen comes on.after some time it again go out I do the same press down above the keys and the screen comes on.

any help.

I’ve had a good look and there is no liquid on the MB – the inverter is a little sticky from the coke her son spilt on the screen. Im guessing and told it only ran down the screen.

The screen is very dark to the point where you can hardly see it. Does it sound like a dead inverter?

Any ideas why it isnt working??? I have no idea what an inverter does?

With liquid spills it’s hard to tell what is wrong. Do you know if liquid went down to the motherboard?
The inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp inside the LCD screen. Without inverter (or failed inverter) the image will be very very dark.

Can you tell me how to replace the fan in my Toshiba l305? I’ve had it for just under 2 years and out of the blue it has developed a loud noise seemingly the fan. the computer will boot up, but that is it. at the desktop level, i click on computer and it is trying but fails to switch over to the application. So does anyone have an idea what is going on? Thank you sooooo much!

Hello All!

First, I’d like to thank cj2600 for the awesome guide! Very detailed. I like your work. I also wanted to see if you have a suggestion regarding my video card. Can it be replaced at all? I have seen many hits on google stating that you can’t. I have an L305 and need better graphics for using sketchup and Autodesk Revitt Architecture, 3D software. Anyways, a detailed guide such as the one you posted but for replacing my graphics card is what I need. Hopefully this can be done.
