How to remove wireless card from Toshiba Satellite A210 or A215 laptop

This guide explains how to remove the wireless card from a Toshiba Satellite A210 or A215 laptop. In most laptops the wireless card could be accessed from the door on the bottom of the laptop but in this model the wireless card is hidden under the keyboard.

There are two antenna cables connected to the wireless card. The white cable is the main antenna and the black cable is the auxiliary antenna. In order to disconnect the antenna cable grab the golden connector with your fingers and unsnap it from the wireless card.

You remove the wireless card the same way you remove the memory module. After you remove two screws securing the card, it will pop up at a 30 degree angle. Pull the wireless card from the socket by the edges.

Also you can use this guide for removing and replacing the keyboard, dial up modem, and power button board.

Using this guide I was able to replace the broken keyboard. I spilled some juice and the keyboard stopped working. Found a new one on eBay for $19 and replaced in 30 minutes!!
    Thank you.

Congratulations! It’s not difficult at all. You just have to be very careful with the connector on the motherboard.

I am having trouble removing the motherboard from an A215. It is free at the top but, it seems to be stuck at the front on the mic, headphone jacks, and volume control. What am I missing?

I found it. There is a screw in the motherboard near the jacks that I missed (and is not shown on the A205 dis-assembly guide.

I am removing my wireless card. The illustrations that you have here are not like my A 215-S4807. I am unable to remove the bezel completely. I have removed all of the case screws from the back with no success. I do not want to break the case. Any thoughts.

    Take a look at Satellite A205. I think it’s very similar: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a205/laptop-disassembly-1.htm
Main disassembly steps should be the same.

They marked only on my pictures NOT on your laptop. :)

Thanks for the good instructions for disassembling. The local shop said my jack needed to be re-sodered to my motherboard. It doesn’t look like it to me! The jack is just loose. Can’t I just re-glue it in place? If so, what adhesive should I use?

    thanks,
    ck

    Epoxy should work.

I posted jack repair instructions in the following post: http://www.insidemylaptop.com/repair-damaged-power-jack-toshiba-satellite-l305-l355-laptops/
This also might work for your model. Check out comments and see what other user said. I believe people were mentioning Satellite A215 laptops.
Is your AC adapter rated 19v? If yes, you can use same jack.

If I want to replace the wireless card with a N standard card what should I be looking for. Is it a PCI-E mini half height card or just a PCIe mini card? My machine is a Satellite A215-s7422.
