I fell asleep w/my Toshiba Satellite M35 on. When I wake up 2 hrs later turned it off and heard a switching sound. The next day when I turn the PC on all I see are symmetrical vertical blue lines. I tried to switch it to an external screen but it would not let me go external. Could this be an inverter problem or a video card memory bust. I would appreciate some advise before I spend the money to buy a new inverter to replace it.
Also, please let me know where I can find instructions on how to change the inverter on the Toshibae Satellite M35.
Thank you so much. Plse reply to me via email.

petros,

after problems with my toshiba satellite m35-s609 (crash + vertical yellow line on right of screen) I restored the computer using the restore CD. Problem now is the computer works properly for some time and then the screen freezes completely. the line on the screen is always there. Any ideas?

Probably you have two different problems.
1. Line on the screen is related to LCD. You cannot fix that. You'll have to replace the scree or use it as is.
2. Freezing. Could be bad/faulty memory module and faulty hard drive. Test both. For memory you can use Memtest86+ for hard drive use Hitachi's drive fitness test.

Dear friends I was traying to disassemble a Toshiba Satellite M30x/M35x computer and I couldn't finish because I couldn't take the securing strip that you mention on step 5. It looks like if it where part of the whole plate that cover the upper part of the machine,I don't know if this is a special model, but I try a lot of times because I disassemble an Acer 4520 and I did that with out any effort..can you help me please, because I will like to solder the DC jack that is lose and If I disassemble the machine I can get inside the machine and finish my job.
And also I will like to leave a donation..How do I do that?

STEP 5

Turn the computer right side up.
Insert a thin object under the securing strip and lift it up.
Be careful, it may be very tight.

Actually you are correct on the BGA ram in the video circuit being the primary cause of Lines symetrically spaced on the screen and or artifacts. We can however reflow these with success generally as opposed to replacing the entire systemboard. Feel free to contact us if you need help.

OK,
Let me make it more clear.
In the main post there is a link to the disassembly guide. Take a look at the first sentence and you see that part of the text is blue. Put your mouse over the blue test and click on the left button. It should take you to the disassembly guide. :)
