We actually got our laptop going again thanks to your help. My husband decided to have a go after reading about it on your site and managed to get it started up. We couldn't really afford a new one just now so we are really grateful for your help.
Thank you.

I have a sp 6100 that had been taken apart and had the rtc battery pulled out supposedly to reset bios. The computer had some sort of virus in the bios system and someone told the owner to remove the rtc to reset it. Now when I try to turn the computer on, the only thing I get is an led light which goes from green to orange and does nothing. The rtc stores time/date and systems configuration. How do I get systems configuration back on computer? If I cant get it to pull up bios or anything? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 changed the cmos battery
twice, and changed the laptop battery three times.
No of them or the cmos battery will charge up at all.
a little bit of charge goes into lap top battery,so the lap top powers up and comes on for useing it.
but i set the time and date and get on the internetand after a few ninuits it freezes so i have no choice to click it off.
Then when i try to swich on again it won't.
I have to take the laptop battery out and put it back in.
It only dose that all the time and you can only do it sp many times and you get fed up.
So can you please help please.
I have sent for a brand new lap top battery but i think i am waiting my time.
What do you think.?
                Thanks.! peter...

"1. Bad connection between the power board and motherboard. Try reconnecting the power board.
2. Motherboard failure. Replace the motherboard.
3. Power board failure. Replace the power board.

It’s hard to tell if the problem is caused by the motherboard or power board. When I was fixing these laptops under warranty, I was replacing both at the same time.

Honestly, I would suggest buying a new laptop."

power board could be change, it is separated by motherboard?

thanx
