I have an old 2455-S305. Its overheating. I cleaned the heat sink. The fan on the bottom or CPU fan looks a bit on the weak side. Ordered a new one. Does any body know if there’s another fan in the laptop?
If so, where is it and how do you replace it.

Thanks. I’m going to replace the backlight but not sure which one I should get. I think the one I’ll need is 2mm x 305mm — is that the correct size? (the LCD screen is Sharp LQ150X1LHC3 B, the laptop is A25-S279)

Well another problem with my Satellite A25-S279. Yesterday images on the screen became very red, then later the screen started to flicker. I shut the laptop down after a while, today when I restarted there was basically no picture. I connected an external monitor, I get a good picture, and by playing with Fn F5, I’m able to get a picture on the laptop LCD, but it only lasts about 5-10 secs (on the external monitor no problem, image stays).

Sounds like you have a faulty backlight lamp. I don’t think it’s related to the inverter board.
