I love this interwebs-thing (world's greatest encyclopedia)!

My Toshiba A105 went black 6 months after it was repaired for the same thing, black screen. After reading the posts hear, I opened the case and found the screen connector was not fully seated. Badda-bing, badda-boom I'm back in business.

Thank you all for your troubleshooting efforts and advice.

Tracy,

We just reassembled our mx35x after soldering charge assembly back on. Now that it is back together, when plugged in, it does a series of beeps….What is going on and how do you fix….

One short - three long - three long ?
Check the memory module. Make sure it's seated correctly.

i have been having the same problem with my toshiba P205, where the screen suddenly goes black. Had the screen replaced but did not fix the problem, $300 bucks down the drain. thought it might be the bios. so i updated it, that was a failure. and the hole converter being bad doesn't look like the issue because the backlight is on( when the sceen goes black it looks like its tearing not turning off ) so i ask what else is the to do beside use a external monitor which defeats the whole purpose of owning a laptop?

I have a Toshiba M35X-S349 and there is a white sometimes gray band down the middle to left side of the screen. Every now and then it will change colors with the background I have on it. Is this an LCD problem? If so, about how much do you think it would cost to get fixed?

Ah Mok... I was able to solder it and it worked... for a while. Till sometime back I had to open it three more times and re-solder the jack. Now, I have a half-dead laptop where the screen does not come on (nothing wrong with the screen because if I press some places on the laptop, it comes alive briefly) and the laptop makes a high-pitches squealing sound. Very soon it shuts itself off. So finally, no go...
