Toshiba Satellite M35X display disassembly guide will show how to remove the LCD screen, the video cable and the FL inverter board. Before you start taking apart the LCD screen assembly, do not forget to remove the laptop battery. After you removed the LCD mask seals and screws start to separate the LCD mask from the LCD cover with your fingers. Put you finger under the mask and carefully lift it up until you feel that plastic latches are open. Do not hurry, the LCD mask is very fragile and it is very easy to break it. Do not use a screwdriver or any other sharp object to remove the LCD mask or you can scratch the screen. When you disconnect the video cable from the screen or cables from the FL inverter board, do not pull the cables, open the connector by the edges.

i have been having the same problem with my toshiba P205, where the screen suddenly goes black. Had the screen replaced but did not fix the problem, $300 bucks down the drain. thought it might be the bios. so i updated it, that was a failure. and the hole converter being bad doesn’t look like the issue because the backlight is on( when the sceen goes black it looks like its tearing not turning off ) so i ask what else is the to do beside use a external monitor which defeats the whole purpose of owning a laptop?

I have a Toshiba M35X-S349 and there is a white sometimes gray band down the middle to left side of the screen. Every now and then it will change colors with the background I have on it. Is this an LCD problem? If so, about how much do you think it would cost to get fixed?

Ah Mok… I was able to solder it and it worked… for a while. Till sometime back I had to open it three more times and re-solder the jack. Now, I have a half-dead laptop where the screen does not come on (nothing wrong with the screen because if I press some places on the laptop, it comes alive briefly) and the laptop makes a high-pitches squealing sound. Very soon it shuts itself off. So finally, no go…
